How will AFU look in 2026?

I have been running annafromuni for a few years now, and I have created a fair number of posts in the process. Not only that, but I have gone through a number of reading preference changes and adjustments as I have grown and my reading taste has developed. As such, there are areas of my book blog I would like to switch up, and I need to create space for my study content to fit in nicely. So, I think it is about time for a refresh of my book blog website.

My reasons for doing this are numerous, from changes in how I want the website to be navigated to the inclusion of more pages for visitors to click to and understand a little more about me, how annafromuni originated, and what my intentions are with this blog. There are many little things I had thought about during 2025 that I saved up for this refresh, so let me tell you about my plans.

Firstly, I want to update my carousel images. I have found some favourites that I would love to showcase at the first chance possible when people visit my website, and this six-photo carousel is the spot for it. I don’t even remember when I last updated these photos. Some will stay as they have a special place in my heart, but others will be replaced by books that I feel better suit my tastes and let fellow readers know my reading preferences. This has little impact on what I read, so it is more an indication to you all of what I like to read and the genres I talk about most.

On that note, I will (finally) be creating an about me page for you all to get to know me better. It will be like a “meet the bookstagrammer”, but covering a little more than just books. As I am about to expand into the study space, I will be giving some of my credentials and letting you all know where my experience comes from, so that it can serve as a disclosure, too. My experiences will differ from those of someone in a different faculty or field than I, but they will also differ from those who have done similar courses and degrees as I. No one university experience is the same, and there are many things I have learnt along the way that I would like to impart on you all, especially those in their early years of university or about to get back into studies.

The next thing might create some waves, so hear me out. I am doing away with my reviews page, where I hold my masterlist of book reviews. At this point, I likely have over 400 book reviews, not to mention the series reviews alongside those, and then there are my discussion posts. People really go to that page to scroll through my reviews, and if they want something specific, they search for it on my website. That’s fantastic, and honestly, I have been so far behind on updating that reviews page that a lot of reviews are on there. So, to make it easier on me, I am getting rid of it.

What I will be doing is making a discussion page where you can get a clear list of my chats and deep dives. With my study content heading to this blog, I will have a lot more discussion posts going up. It is also difficult to scroll through my discussions to find things of similar interest to something you may have previously read, so I feel this is the best course of action here. It might take a day or two before it is set up in an optimal fashion, but I am keen to get it live and have somewhere you can click through to and read all the discussions I have created in the realm of academics, bookish social media, and content creation.

There may be other changes here and there, but I will let you find them yourselves. Excited to head into 2026 and this new chapter of annafromuni with you all.
