Hello 2026!

Hello fellow readers, and welcome back to annafromuni. I’m looking forward to sharing many things with you this year, from book reviews and discussions to study tips and experiences. 2026 marks an expansion for annafromuni, and I am so happy to bring you along for the ride.

A quick notice of the plans for January and February. In January, I will be reducing my post schedule to 4 posts a week. This is for several reasons, but mainly it is to give me time to make the changes and updates to my website that I want to make. I am still feeling a little drained from the extensive reading I attempted in December, so it is also needed to let me recoup, recharge, and find the books I want to review and talk about in a natural timeframe. I have several library books that I have heard so many great things about lined up for January, but it will be a slow process to read them. For those who are new to my posts, I struggle to read in summer, and getting into the books I do pick up takes me longer. Reducing my weekly post count is the best solution for this.

I have my February reviews lined up, with novels from authors within the African diaspora and New Zealand authors taking precedence, as it is Black History Month in America and February 6th marks Waitangi Day here in Aotearoa, New Zealand. I am eager to get to these books as the themes and topics discussed will be so interesting, and the writing is going to be stunning. There will also be some romances scattered throughout the month, as February also marks the month of love. My post schedule may return to five posts a week in February, but it also might stay at four. It will simply come down to when I feel satisfied with the developments of the website and the rush of my PhD data collection has ebbed.

I am hoping that 2026 can be a year where we get some discussions going on the posts, so please leave a comment when something resonates with you or a book that you feel strongly about is discussed. I love talking with others about recent reads and newfound favourites, so I am always up for a chat in the comments! I’m looking forward to getting to know my fellow readers more and seeing how our reading tastes align.
