August Reading Dump

Get ready for another month of daily updates!

As I have been reading faster than my post rate over the last few months, I am doing another month full of reviews, series summaries, and discussions for you all. This way I get to publish posts that have been sitting in my drafts for a while and you get an array of content to consider and reflect upon from me.

This is the second month of daily posting this year following my April reading month. I find that closing off each third of the year with a month of posts isn’t actually too bad in terms of the work and reading required, and it is honestly a great way for me to get around to reading recent releases quicker. Don’t worry, this isn’t making my PhD work suffer. In fact, I used reading as a much needed break between invigiating exams and my presentation preparation so that I could put as much time and focus as needed into the last details and practicing my speech. As I am presenting on August 11th, I figured it would be good to do as much blog work ahead of time as possible so I am not fretting over book reviews or discussion posts that need to be written up.

Speaking of discussions posts, my August posts will include a series on the range of genres I read and how I manage to do so, what benefits I find to reading across many genres, and why I recommend picking up another genres outside of the one/s you currently read. If you have been meaning to expand your reading, or you feel stuck and burnout, thinking you have reached saturation with your preferred genre/s, then let this be a sign for you. Hopefully, you will find something to think about in these discussion posts that will spark a new wave of reading for you.

So here is another month of posts to pique your interest, spark your creativity, and spur on some encouragement for your own reading!
